In which Nick and I cast the Gossip Girl musical
Kate: Anne Hathaway was on NPR today saying she wants to do more roles that involve singing and dancing. Also nudity. We need to get a script together STAT.
Nick: Gossip Girl the Musical. Anne [Hathaway] as Blair. A number wearing only lingerie as she sings about how much she loves and hates Chuck. Kristin Chenoweth as Dorota.
Kate: Sweet Jesus God, man. You're a genius. James Marsden as Nate. That's all I have so far.
Nick: Amy Adams as Serena. Lee Pace as Dan.
Kate: Yes and yes.
Nick: Serena's ballad is called "Why Is It So Hard Being S?" and will feature a series of double entendres. Amy will have to wear fake breasts.
Kate: Put it in the rider.
Nick: I'm having trouble coming up with Chuck, though. There aren't many singing anti-heroes who won't look silly in purple paisley.
Kate: Maybe Jared Leto? I assume he can sing, and he'll be more than happy to do his own make-up.
Nick: I'd say Michelle Trachtenberg could still be Georgina, but then Leighton Meester would want to be Blair, which defeats the purpose.
Kate: Parker Posey as Georgina. Nailed it.
Nick: Perfect!
Kate: Cut and wrap. Let's bank this thing.
